“Are You Pregnant?”

I get asked this question often before becoming pregnant with my first son.

One day in fall 2013, I spend time in the entrance area of our company to wait for my husband to finish with work. A female coworker touches my belly without asking and inquires: “Are you pregnant?”
I tell her: “No, I’m not. I have recently started working out at a gym and have gained a few pounds in the process.”

Later that day, I skype with my mom. She asks me: “Is another grandchild on its way?”. I tell her that I am not pregnant.

I find it weird that different people would ask me if I’m pregnant on the same day, but simply ascribe it to my belly looking bigger that day than usually.

Has anyone ever asked you a similar question?
