“Are You Pregnant?”

I get asked this question often before becoming pregnant with my first son.

One day in the fall of 2013, I spend time in the entrance area of our company, waiting for my husband to finish work. A female coworker touches my belly without asking and inquires: “Are you pregnant?”
I tell her: “No, I’m not. I’ve recently started working out at a gym and have gained a few pounds in the process.”

Later that day, I skype with my mom. She asks me: “Is another grandchild on its way?” I tell her that I am not pregnant.

I find it strange that different people would ask me if I’m pregnant on the same day, but I simply ascribe it to my belly looking bigger than usual that day.

Has anyone ever asked you a similar question?
