I have finally been able to reconnect with my children through video calls.

I have had three video calls with my children so far.
Even though I still do not know which school they go to, I now know that they take a bus back home from school and that they live somewhere close to Jilin Normal University in Siping. I looked up public buses and found one that stops at both a primary school and Jilin Normal University.
My older son told me he is in a class with 55 pupils. My younger son showed me the two cats they now own, whom they seem to love. They don’t speak German anymore.
They show severe signs of parental alienation, which came as a huge shock—but is no surprise considering the circumstances.
