Court proceedings can be likened to the game “Telephone”.

“Telephone” was one of our favorite games to play during class at primary school in Austria.

We were 20 pupils in our class, and our teacher would start with the person who was sitting right next to her in the front row near the door. Once the original phrase had been quietly passed on from one person to the next and once it had passed a few people, it had already changed to have a completely different meaning.

In my experience, being at court is similar to playing the game “Telephone”. A statement will be rotated from one person to another and will sometimes reappear in a document with a completely different meaning from the one that was originally intended.
