"I Used to Be Able to Walk Around Freely After Dark, but It Has Become Too Dangerous to Do So"

I ask her if she feels that Vienna has become less safe compared to the past.

She says: “Yes, definitely. I used to be able to walk around freely after dark, but it has become too dangerous to do so. I always take a cab now when I have to go somewhere after dark, and I do the same if I have to take my children somewhere. My husband thinks I am being weird; he doesn’t quite understand me. I have to tell him that Vienna is not safe for women anymore. Because he is a man, he doesn’t have this experience, but for me as a woman, it is obvious that it has become less safe.”

Do you agree?
