Dating A Narcissist Is Like Dating A Dinosaur

Dating a malignant narcissist can be likened to dating a dinosaur. A malignant narcissist behaves almost like a dinosaur—if you have been with one or if you have separated from one, your life will usually be in constant danger.
When you try to tell a narcissist that you have feelings, that you are human, and that you would like him to stop his cruel actions, he usually won’t.
His capacity for emotional intimacy and closeness can also be likened to that of a dinosaur! He will be cold, won’t talk about what’s really going on with him, and won’t truly share his life with you. If you ask him to open up, he’ll turn on you and go after your life as though you were his enemy, not his girlfriend.
The thing with dinosaurs is that we know they’re dangerous. We recognize the threat of dinosaurs—in theory and in movies, since they are already extinct and we don’t need to fear them in reality.
But with malignant narcissists, the danger isn’t always immediately obvious. Some of them may appear very nice and seem harmless, so it can be shocking when they reveal their true, dinosaur-like nature!
