I have been victim blamed for years, and there is no end in sight.
My ex and his family have taken my children from me through deception, not by legal means, and I am the one who has been attacked, left, right and center, by strangers, as well as former friends and family members alike.
A blonde haired woman in her early 60s, who is working at a bakery in Vienna, is an exception. Whenever I meet her at the bakery, she’ll ask how I’m doing. The first time I tell her my ex has not allowed me to see my kids for a period of over 2 years, she tells me: “Children belong with their mother.”
I ask her about her opinion on a related topic the next time I see her. I have turned to authorities, have asked for help from various professionals, and have been to the police several times. I have suffered harassment at the hands of quite a few of them.
When I ask her what her view is on why they aren’t willing to help, which is what it always comes down to, she tells me directly: “They simply don’t want to. They prefer causing you and your children harm.”
