It’s November 2014. My husband, in-laws, and I visit my husband’s aunt in a small town in Jilin province together with our baby son.
Our son’s eyes are brown with a shade of blue.
My husband’s aunt studies his eyes. She then looks at my eyes, which are lighter than our son’s and green with a shade of brown.
She asks: “When will his eyes change to your color?”
